Dr. Gina Griffin, DSW, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from Eckerd College with a BS in Organizational Behavior, and a concentration in International Management, in 2008. In 2012, she completed her Master of Social Work at University of South Florida. And in 2021, she completed her DSW at the University of Southern California. She has spent the past decade working with trauma survivors. She is trained in evidence-based practices such as Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy, and also does group work. Gina has also taught Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for 10 years and enjoys using her 25 years of meditation practice to help others to develop this new skill set so that they can help themselves with trauma and anxiety.
Gina also has a wide range of technical skills. She began to learn R Programming for data analysis six years ago, in order to develop her research-related skills. She now teaches programming and data science skills through her website (A::ISWR) and free Saturday morning #swRk workshops. Additionally, Gina is very passionate about writing about social work. Her area of interest is largely on the intersection of social work, technology, research, and data justice.
