Gary Grant has a BA from the University of Chicago and a JD from Illinois Tech's Chicago-Kent College of Law. He currently serves as Senior VP for Development for Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech). Founded at the dawn of the Space Race in 1958, Florida Tech is the only independent, technological university in the Southeast. In this role, he oversees all fundraising and leadership engagement for the University.
Gary began his career at the University of Chicago in 1987 and served 16 years there in annual giving, major giving and as Associate Dean for the graduate school of social work (now the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice) and Director of Major Gifts for the University of Chicago Medical Center. Following this he served over 15 years as Director of Major Gifts for the National Alzheimer's Association, Vice President for the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and Vice President for Washington College and the University of Tampa.
Gary has authored several books on the use of the internet in nonprofits and fundraising. He currently serves on the board of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, FL.
