Make a Difference
by Mariliz Chan
A feeling of hopelessness,
And sadness when the world is filled with
Injustices, inequality, and suffering.
I yearn for something more,
A way to help and reach out to others.
While I pursue my education, I dig deep, and
I find that the feeling of gratitude becomes amplified.
There are holes in my heart that feels fulfilled
An ultimate filling of my heart and my being,
By utilizing what I am learning
And the God-given right to do good deeds.
So I begin this journey,
Of helping others in
Countless ways.
I will try my best to apply what I am taught,
And from opportunities of miseducation, fine tune the
Limitless ways I can become a better social worker...
With the intent
Of making a difference,
Remembering that it is an important facet of life,
Knowledge acquisition - utilizing it for good.
