The Scales of Justice

The scales of humanity ticking

   on the clock of time

      the chime of justice

         tolls and calls

            as the pendulum swings

               swift and falls

                  rights of passage that unfold

                     different stories to be told

                        leading paths to us all

Keborah Andren is a BSW student finishing her degree at Portland State University and applying for the master's program. She is passionate about diversity, social justice, and the conflicts between paradigms of knowledge and human rights. She loves to write poetry to express the tensions of our intersectionality and the struggles we face as a community working together toward social change.
